BACHELOR OF INTERIOR DESIGN

COURSE STRUCTURE



OBJECTIVES :

1. To train a self-reliant professional who can enter the profession of Interior Designing.

2. To meet the ever-increasing demand of qualified interior designers in Urban/semi-urban Centers and abroad.



ELIGIBILITY :

The course is framed in such a way that it is not only a pure technological or scientific course but also gives training of Management Skills, Aesthetic Skills and fieldwork experience to the students. Hence students are admitted from science, arts, commerce and vocational, engineering and technological disciplines.


B.I.D. (First Year)

1.  (10+2) Maharashtra (H.S.C.), H.S.C. board or equivalent board of any state.
2.  Passing of (10+2) any course in architecture, interior, civil engineering, construction technology, building supervisors, Architecture Assistance ship, Arch/Civil Draughtmanship or similar courses in Architectural, Civil, MCVC or any other technology in which Engineering Drawing is covered – All recognized by the technical Education board, Maharashtra or equivalent universities & boards of any State. Preference shall be given to the students who have passed intermediate drawing grade examination or technical qualification.

B.I.D. (Second Year)

The second year exam leading to the B.I.D. will be held by the university and no candidate will be admitted in this examination unless she has kept two terms in a college affiliated to the university subsequent to her passing the first year exam leading to the degree and  unless she produced from the principal of the college a certificate as per quoted in B.I.D. Ist year.
2) Diploma course in Interior Design or Architecture, DCE, DEE, DME of (10+3) years duration conducted by board of technical education or any other govt. recognized authority of any state.
3) Diploma Course in Interior Design & decoration of (10+2+2) years duration recognized by any university or board of any State.


B.I.D. (Third year)

1) The third year examination leading to the B.I.D. will be held by the university & no candidate will be admitted in this examination unless she has kept two terms in the college affiliated to the university subsequent to her passing the second year examination leading to the B.I.D. & unless the produces from the principal of the college a certificate as per quoted in B.I.D. II year.

Bachelor of Interior Design (B.I.D.)

Three years full time degree course affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur.
The medium of Instruction for course in English.

Note :

1. Passing marks for each paper will be 40% and for sessional work the passing marks is 50% of total marks.

2. For the subject Environmental Studies Grade will be awarded as per the rules.

3. Practical training on the related subjects in the respective semesters will be given to the students.

4. Internship: Six months full time or 12 months part time (including university holidays) internship experience of working in professional interior designer/ Architects/interior contractors office.




Working Hours for : BDFC / BFTM / BID
9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.
